Tacoma just bumped the Forester in my Fuelly garage;

Likely because the truck is our trip vehicle while the Subaru does daily driving in town. Still though, much better than the 2005 4L ever got.

How are you managing to only get 15.5 mpg from a 2.5L Subaru? Sure they aren’t great but they aren’t that bad. I think the worst I ever got from my 2001 Outback was 18 with most tanks getting my 20-22.

Fun fact: 15.2 mpg is the worst I have ever gotten from my Mini. That tank consisted of 50 highway miles and 75 track miles.

thats still a lot worse than I would have expected. Especially for the Forester.

Wow, F uelly for my F150 2.7L Eco is 21 mpg lifetime. My 93 Ranger 4.0L is currently at 18.7 mpg.

I’m assuming you are doing a more city than highway?

while 16.2 mpg is nothing to write home about it's more than either of my cars will ever manage.

How well does the trip computer match your calculations?

Foz does a 2.5 mile commute 5 days a week. During winter it doesn’t even warm up by the time it gets parked. All city, all year.

We bought it new in 2008, and now 11 years later it has 100,000km (62K miles). So it has gotten less than 10K km a year (~5.5K miles) it’s whole life.

Best mileage is around 26.6mpg, it just doesn’t get there often.

That’s L/100km, not mpg

Edit: Nevermind, just realized that converts to 15.5 US mpg....

That Foresters fuel economy makes me feel better about my Legacy using 12.2 L/100km on average

17 is why I get from my 2006 Ridgeline with 98,000 miles while doing a less than 5 mile city commute. I was averaging around 20 when doing a 50 mile commute of mostly highway.

My worst ever was 18, with bad HGs and a failing trans......

She hovers pretty steady around 22 mpg since the bigger wheels, basket, 3.8L swap.

Good to know. I’m getting 18-19. The truck love s the  55-60 mph section the first part of my commute. Does okay cruising at 75+ the rest of the way, but mileage definitely suffers.
